What to Expect
Whether you are a first-time visitor or a returning guest, we want you to feel welcome at our church, and comfortable in joining us in worship. Below is a brief overview of what you can expect during Sunday mornings at FUMC Lewisville.
What to wear
About our worship
- When you enter the sanctuary, ushers will greet you, provide a bulletin, and assist you with finding a seat, if needed.
- In addition to the order of service, the bulletin includes congregational responses and tells you when to stand or sit. Lyrics to songs are either in the hymnal or shown on a screen at the front of the sanctuary.
- Prior to the start of the service or during the offering, please take a moment to sign the attendance registration form in a small black folder located under the inside aisle seats. If you have children in Sunday School, please include their names as well.
Communion
- In the United Methodist Church we practice open communion. You need not be a member of our congregation or our denomination in order to receive the Sacrament. All are welcome at the Lord's Table.
Soul Cafe
Soul Cafe is a comfortable gathering place where members and visitors can come together on Sunday mornings to enjoy coffee and pastries and catch up on news of the week. Soul Cafe is located in the main building near the kitchen, across from room 120. Soul Cafe is open from 9:30 to 11:00am each Sunday.
